In vol. II of the book by Edmond de Coussemaker on protestants in France in the 16th century, one may read of a Mahieu Baiart
who was banished for destroying images and altar in the church at La Ventie on August 15, 1566.
The French scholar who provided me with this information wonders if this man might have been the ancestor of Samuel Bayart.
