Towns named Bayard

I have recently returned from towns named Bayard in New Mexico, West Virginia, Nebraska and Iowa. They are named , directly or indirectly , for Thomas Francis Bayard of Delaware ( Iowa, W.Va, and Nebraska ) and General George D. Bayard, a union officer in the Civil War (New Mexico). I am interested in getting more detail on either or both men to trace these towns'histories better. I also hope to locate other towns of this name (to complete my visits). I believe there are similar towns in Georgia and Maryland and possibly in Indiana and Florida, but they are too small to register on Rand Mcnally indexes or to have websites. Any clues out there?
