Here is some information on the Quebec(Canada) Bayards:

First two Bayards came to Canada(Nouvelle-France). François and Jacques.
Both came as soldiers.

Here I'll have to make some remarks as to the various names
and aliases.

1) Tanguay gives the following variations:

        Baillac, Baillard, Bainla, Bainlast,
        Bangaille, Banhiac, Banlia, Banliard,
        Baya, Bayac, Lamontagne

2) Drouin gives: Baillard, Bayart, Banliac, Banhiac, Montagne
        and Lamontagne

3) Amrecican-French Genealogical Society
adds: Banyaque

A) François Banliac/Bayard dit Lamontagne

son of Jean Banliac and Françoise Petit
born around 1641 in Chantrezac, Angoulême,
Angoumois(Charente), France

He came to Canada in 1665 aboard the ship "La Justice" as a
soldier in the "Régiment de Carignan-Salières" from the
company 'La Fouille' under captain "Sieur Guillet"

However Drouin give the name Bayard to him.

He married Madeleine Doyon in 1677 and remarried with Angélique
Pelletier in 1680

B) Jacques Bayard

son of Jean Bayard and Jeanne Villatray
born around 1671 in Le Puy , Auvergne, France
married Marie Valade 23 november 1694 in
Charlesbourg, Quebec, Canada

The Blue Drouin bookk gives 151 marriages of Bayard/Banliac...
in the Male book and the 214 marriages in the FemaleBook. All
from Quebec and up to 1935.
