Here is some information on the Quebec(Canada) Bayards: First two Bayards came to Canada(Nouvelle-France). François and Jacques. Both came as soldiers. Here I'll have to make some remarks as to the various names and aliases. 1) Tanguay gives the following variations: Baillac, Baillard, Bainla, Bainlast, Bangaille, Banhiac, Banlia, Banliard, Baya, Bayac, Lamontagne 2) Drouin gives: Baillard, Bayart, Banliac, Banhiac, Montagne and Lamontagne 3) Amrecican-French Genealogical Society adds: Banyaque A) François Banliac/Bayard dit Lamontagne son of Jean Banliac and Françoise Petit born around 1641 in Chantrezac, Angoulême, Angoumois(Charente), France He came to Canada in 1665 aboard the ship "La Justice" as a soldier in the "Régiment de Carignan-Salières" from the company 'La Fouille' under captain "Sieur Guillet" However Drouin give the name Bayard to him. He married Madeleine Doyon in 1677 and remarried with Angélique Pelletier in 1680 B) Jacques Bayard son of Jean Bayard and Jeanne Villatray born around 1671 in Le Puy , Auvergne, France married Marie Valade 23 november 1694 in Charlesbourg, Quebec, Canada The Blue Drouin bookk gives 151 marriages of Bayard/Banliac... in the Male book and the 214 marriages in the FemaleBook.
