Bayard Family Genealogy Forum

Interestingly I have now researched this lady myself. She was born out of wedlock on 21st January 1823, probably the daughter of Elizabeth Hawes who applied for her to be admitted to the Church of England Foundling Hospital at St Pancras. This was a charitable institutioin for the bringing up of young children whose mothers could not cope. On admission on 4th May she was immediately baptised the following day, 5th May 1823, so the surname Bayard was created at that point. She served an apprenticeship and was discharged on 12th March 1838. She married James Hussey on 23rd November 1845and had several children.Through this forum I have now linked my wife's family with Noreen Sergovitch of Canada, with thanks.
