I am working on ancestors of my gggggfather Samuel Vetch Bayard. I have a photo of an elderly bald, white-bearded man that is signed "W. Bayard" but am unsure where he fits in. While I believe Samuel's father was named William, he died in Southampton in 1804, at about 77 years of age. I don't think photography was invented until after that date. Please send me a note if interested in this.
