All Bailey Families tend to be quite secretive, and intentionally misdirecting with family info...Some interesting aspects of the spiritual pursuit (religion), also -- my ancestors were Quakers in south-easttern PA, and my G'Grandmother was Amish from Switzerland near Berne.

Another suggestion is that you get in touch with Bill Bailey (bbailey.lowedna@baileyconnection.com) who is managing the Bailey DNA Project and have your Y DNA test to learn to which BAILEY/BAYLEY, BAILY, line you belong. There seem to be a few.
