Think this is the 'Famous Bayly' family your line comes from. I found this information whilst researching Thomas Bayly Ranson - who's second wife was Mary Garland Crimp and his first wife was Mary Ann Maria Clark whom he married in 1847 in Sudbury, Suffolk. It appears Thomas Bayly Ransom and his two wives never had any children but would love to know where yu fit in as there were obviously 'Ransom' descendants.
This is what I found & hope it helps someone else researching the this lineage:
Thomas Bayley of Stowmarket - worsted Weaver & ?
Thomas Bayly (1677- ) and Sarah Mackerell (daughter of John & Ann Mackerell)
John Bayly - surgeon Bapt. St John's Timberhill - Norwich married Dorothy Fittz of Norwich
Thomas Bayly married Ann Payne (she b.1757-1835)
(just type in Thomas Bayly Ranson & you will find a great picture of their headstone if you browse through the listings)
Dorothy Ann Bayly married John Green Crosse on 18 May 1816
(John Crosse was Thomas Bayly's apprentice)
Susan Malden Bayly married William Ransom
Another interesting find was:
The Jurist - page 124)
Thomas Bayly Ranson - Mastrs in Chancery - The following gentlemen have been appionted Masters Extraordinary in the High Court of Chancery:- Thomas Bayly Ransom, of Sudbury, Suffolk; Richard Underwood, of Hereford.
Best wishes Joanne
