My Great-Great Grandfather was Joseph Beacham, Joseph Hudnall Beacham to be exact. However,
he was born in 1808 in Virginia. My Great Grandfather was Joseph Harding Beacham, born in
1839 in Northumberland County, VA. He did have a brother, Arthur Gresham Beacham, who was
born in 1857. They changed the spelling of their name circa 1897 to Beauchamp. My Grandfather
was Joseph Howard Beauchamp, born in 1871, also in Northumberland County. There are some
Beauchamp's in Baltimore from Northumberland County, VA, but they are not known at this time
to be relatives of ours and there are a lot of Beauchamp's and a few Beacham's in Northumberland,
Lancaster, Richmond and Westmoreland Counties now. When I worked in the Baltimore area I
worked with a woman whose maiden name was Beauchamp, and she was from the Eastern
Shore of MD. That was many years ago and I don't remember her name. This probably doesn't
help you much, but it must be remembered that in the early 1900s there was daily steamboat
service between Baltimore and the Northern Neck of Virginia.
