I am searching for ancestors of Dandridge Cox Beacham, of Northumberland County, VA (born in late 1820's). He married Margaret Hinton, of Delaware and they were the parents of William Benjamin Beauchamp, Orthodox Methodist Bishop, from Richmond, VA. The spelling apparently changed with William, who was my g-grandfather. William married Ada Blanche Whitehurst and were the parents of Luke Granberry Beauchamp of Nashville, also a minister, of Nashville, TN (died in 1950's).
There is some circumstantial evidence that James G. Beacham and Jane Lamkin, both of Northumberland, VA were the parents of Dandridge Cox Beacham, although their other two sons, Joseph Hudnall Beacham and John G. Beacham were born about 20 years earlier (around 1810), leaving some doubt. It is also speculative that James G. Beacham's parents were Trussell Beacham and Molly Claughton (widow of Thomas Claughton), both of Northumberland, VA. Molly's maiden name is believed to be either "Ginn" or "Cox", but I have not been able to confirm either.
There were several Beachams from Northumberland County, VA in the mid 1700's. In addition to Trussell (mentioned above), there was Abram, Abraham, Isaac and Parker. The earliest Beacham from Northumberland appears to be a Daniel Beacham in about 1679.
Any confirmation or additional information of this line of Beachams that could help tie ups some of these loose ends would be greatly appreciated.
