From the Topeka (Kansas) Daily State Journal, Thursday November 24, 1932 page 2: JOHN A. BEAL Funeral services for John A. Beal, who died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Sowers, 1620 Boswell avenue Wednesday, will be held at the Sanders-Porterfield funeral home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the funeral hour. Burial will be in Mount Hope cemetery. Mr. Beal was born in Bainbridge, N.Y. July 7, 1844 and came to Kansas fifty years ago, settling near Grainfield. He acted as land appraiser for the Union Pacific when the railroad was built thru west Kansas. He was a successful farmer for many years and was a member of the Masonic lodge in Wakeeney. He is survived by a niece, Mrs. J. W. Doan, of Coldwater, Mich. (Not a relation - no further information) Notify Administrator about this message?
