Thanks Gordon.
I believe Ms. Cook is a careful and honest researcher and I have an appreciation for careful and honest research.
However, I am quickly arriving at the conclusion that there are other careful and honest researchers of Maryland Beall genealogy.I plan to read Heterick and Hull, and I have come to recognize that several contributors of this forum are deserving of respect also. For example, I am particularly impressed with the creative insight of Barry Wood and the analytical skills of Jack Day, and have come to the opinion that if I merely listen to the arguments and follow the logic, I am as likely to arrive at correct answers regarding the Bealls of Maryland, as if I rolled up my sleeves and examined each and every detail for myself.
However, the same does not appear to apply with respect to the Bealls participating in the migration to the west. For example, around 1785, when in his early fifties, Leonard Beall left Maryland for Kentucky, taking his wife and at least three of his sons with him--and was never heard from again...
Well, not quite, but almost. My searches, for example, have revealed very few mentions of Leonard Beall on this forum. Accordingly, that is where I plan to roll up my sleeves when I have the time.
Cheers.
