Hi:

Saw your query re the Beall surname. I don't know if this will be of any help, however, a correspondent many years ago sent me info on his Beall line. He didn't have definite proof but said all of the evidence he has suggests and he believes that his Beall line originated in Prince Georges Co. Maryland. His earliest record is of Thomas Beall who stated in a petition that he had 105 acres purchased from Ninian Beall and asked for the adjoining vacant land, it being 207 acres. This was granted 7 June 1701. Patents BB#3:547-48.

Other names connected to this Beall family in P.G. Co. were
sons William Beall, Benjamin Beall, Ninian Beall, his wife Priscilla, daughters Elizabeth Draydon and Uphen Tannehill.
Also mentioned is Thomas Beall Jr.s' Aunt Mary Jones who had sons Evan and John Jones.

A Thomas Beall was granted 400 acres on the Waters of Stephens Creek in Granville Co. SC on 2 August 1757 and on 14 February 1757 Thomas Bell petitioned for 200 acres on Savannah River in Georgia. Other names mentioned in connection with this branch of the family were Mary Ferrell, Ann Christian Beall, mother of Arthur Ryals, Jacob Beall and his son, Jeremiah.
These families are also connected to Jones, Harvey and Chaney, my family surname from SC to the Natchez District and finally in LA by 1797.

If any of these names are of interest to you, I have additional records from my correspondent which I would be happy to share.
My e-mail address is: lmingledue@earthlink.net

Thanks,

Lorrie Ingledue
