1880 Directory of Belfast City lists John at 43 Lesson St., Belfast the same address & Occupation as on his son's marriage certifiate in 1889. Spelling in 1880 directory is Bateson.
Maureen Ryan seems to think he was one of either 14 or 16 kids and that his brothers grandkids & greatgrandkids may live just outside of Belfast in Ballymorn(sp?) on a farm as that was the family business.

Robert Beatson
Lived at:17 Cairns St. Belfast,Falls Ward m. Maryann McGronan. Two sons, John & Robert. Seven daughters, they are: Bridget, Jennie,Mary Catherine, Esther, Maria, Selina, Frances. Emigrated to both Canada and USA between
Per Maureen Monaghan Ryan Robert came from a long line of farmers 10 or more brothers and sisters. They are not believed to have come to the USA.
On his marriage certificate:Robert is listed as living at 43 Leeson St,his father's name is listed as John,there is no mother listed.
Maryann's father is listed as Francis.
Robert is believed to be buried in Milltown Catholic C emetery. Robert is listed in the 1911 census as Robert Bateson he is list ed with his family at 17 Cairnes St., At the time the census was taken Robert was 46 years old and a general laborer. He was still married, born in
Belfast City. It further notes that he could read and write and was Roman Catholic

Bridget is listed as being 18 in the 1911 census. Living at 17 Cairns
St. She is listed as single and born in Scotland. She is not listed as either a student or employed, family lore says she died at a young age possibly of consumption . She worked at the asylum which is where she probably contracted Te consumption which we call TB today. The asylum was the name given to the hospital for people who could not pay for medical care.

Her birth certificate lists her as born at 16 Centre St.,Springburn, Glasgow, Scotland, record number 1820 registered 12/21/1893 Her father is listed as a
glassworks labourer & her mother as Mary Ann Beatson(Mclone) The birth certificate is signed by Robert Beatson and dated 12/21/1893
