Hi Ned-
I knew your grandmother Rose quite well. There was always a story about Indian ancestry but I've never found any actual proof. Rose's sister Bertha was adamant that they did not have Indian blood. I have no idea for sure but expect it may have been somewhere in the Beaubien line if there was any.
I don't know what e-mail address you have been trying (the one posted with my answer is the right one) if you want to write me and give me your e-mail I'll try that or we may have to communicate by snail mail.
My address is P.O. Box 613 Wolfeboro, NH 03894.
I have a recollection of both your mother and your Aunt Ruth. I was somewhat younger than either of them. They were closer in age to my Aunt Teresa.
All of the Beaubien sisters that I knew were short and a bit stout. And I do mean short (about 5 feet tall) except Aunt Gert who was a bit taller and more big-boned.
They were the daughters of Amedee and Lucy (Stone) Beaubien.
As I said, I have a great deal of info about the family that I would love to share with you. Also would like info about your Mom and her family and your Aunt Ruth. My memories of the Gordon's was quite fond.
By my calculation, we are second cousins.
Stan Stevens
