Beauchamp Family Genealogy Forum

Go to the website www.familysearch.org. Read a little about what they've done and what kind of records they have available. Find the nearest location to you in their website. Then call them up and find out their hours of availability. They have facilities like a library (at least in New York they do), except that they do not have an abundance of books but instead microfilms... They have microfilmed the church records so instead of having to take a plane to Utuado to find the records you can review the books at their locations. If they do not have the films you need at that location you can order them $3.75/film. It takes about 10 days to come but it is well worth it. My advice to you is to write down all the information on Beauchamps you encounter so that later on you won't have to go back to find it... and ALWAYS write down where you found the information. I am new to genealogy as well -- I've been doing it about a year and have made double trips for not writing down information... You can also write to Iglesia de San Miguel in Utuado, Puerto Rico with the information you have - they can send you the baptismal/birth certificate over the mail - it only costs $5.00 per certificate. Feel free to e-mail me direct at cramirez@pbwt.com.
