I would say it could be. Just last evening I was sitting next to a lady from Quebec, I got to talking with her and mentioned my grandmother's name. I spelled it for her and she pronounced it in several different ways. Now, she was from Quebec and grant it I spelled it a couple different ways, so I can imagine all sorts of variations out there! If I had to spell what she was pronuncing, who knows what that name would look like. This all is challenging isn't it! Good luck in your research.
