You are right about MARIE, it's just as JOSEPH, all french canadian used to be baptised with those first name. But now it tends to go with only one, or two first name, without JOSEPH, because the religion is less important now, these days.
In your search in french canadian names, using the last two first names will give you a pretty accurate results. Try to avoid using JOSEPH or MARIE.
