This is in response to Godfrey Beaudoin - Michigan
Louis Beaudoin b. 1857 was my Grandfather. His son, Cemelle Mistai Beaudoin, was my father. His brother Fred
Beaudoin was my uncle.I knew Uncle Fred and all the other brothers and sisters of my father, Cemelle. Most
all of his brothers and one sister lived in the town of
Trout Lake, Michigan, which was only 10 miles from where
we lived. However, Fred Beaudoin was not born in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. He was born in the Maniwaki/
Montserf area of Quebec.I spoke with my uncle Fred many
times, and interviewed him once in regard to their trip
to Michigan from Canada and he was old enough at the time
of that trip to remember it well. Marie Davis St. Germain
Beaudoin was Louis' wife and of course, my grandmother.
My grandfather, Louis Beaudoin b.1857 died of an accident
on their family farm when he was dragging the land with
a spring tooth drag, using a team of oxen which ran away pulling the spring tooth drag over him. This was in
1916.My grandmother, Marie (Mary) walked to church every
day in the village of Trout Lake where she lived. She
remarried a man with the last name of Robinson.I don't
recall his first name. I recall visiting my grandmother
Marie's (Mary)home a number of times as I was growing up,
before she passed away.
