Rupert:

Just a couple of notes about your posting. I can probably offer a bit of background information on the Canadian Bechers. I do have more detailed information on the Canadian Bechers as well.

Constance Becher was the daughter of Annie-Laurie Becher (nee McKeagney). My great-grandmother was Annie-Laurie's sister Julia (Minnie) McKeagney, hence my interest.

Constance's maternal grandfather (James Charles McKeagney) was Puisne Judge in Manitoba (one of the two first judges in the new Province). Prior to his appointment, he was an Member of Parliament in the Parliament of Canada, and prior to that he was an Member of the Nova Scotia Legislature.

I have a fair amount of information that I have collected over the last couple of years (thanks to a lead from Alistair in the first place). If you are interested in the McKeagney connection, then please let me know at lmacgill@sympatico.ca or by posting here.

Regards, Libby
