I don't believe there is a connection there. My grandmother was a Matthiesen born in Keitum,Sylt.My grandfather was born in Meldorf but had aunts in Itzehoe and Heide.His father, Claus Johann Beckmann was also born in Meldorf (1825); Claus Johanns father, Hinrich was born in Melorf in 1798; Hinrichs father, Peter, was born in Meldorf in 1770. Before this time I have names and dates but no places of BMD.
