Have only just begun to discover these genealogy forums hence the long delay since your original message. My earliest Beddow ancestor is a Richard Beddow born about 1813 in Ellesmere, Shropshire, who married a Margaret Edgecumbe, also of Ellesemere. He was a canal agent (Shropshire Union?) One of his sons, another Richard Beddow, born 1836, was my great-great grandfather, also a canal agent/lock-keeper. Do you know if there is any connection? Have just joined Shropshire FHS and hope to find out more. Did you ever finish writing the family history, if so I would be very interested. Thanks.
