Beddows - Birmingham gunmakers round 1800

My mother's family were Birmingham-based Beddows, going back through her father Cyril Osborne Fletcher Beddows (milliner, born Aston, B'ham 5.3.1881, d 1959), his father Charles William Beddows (clerk, born 1849, sometime director of Aston Villa FC, died Aston 21.2.1902) and his father John Beddows, about whom I know nothing except he was born around 1820-1820, was a gun finisher and cabinet maker, married a Mary Ann Bradley, and married his son off to Mary Jane, daughter of an inventor/gunmaker called John Fletcher who I imagine was his partner or similarly connected with him in business fashion. I've got pictures of a family vault in Witton.
Anyone got more details or take me back further? Wealth of my 1880-2002 family tree in return!
Jon Smith
