My mother and I are just beginning research on the Biddinger name. My ggg grandma was Anna Biddinger b. Dec 1803 in PA. She married Daniel Campbell in Richland Co., (now Ashland) Ohio in 1824. Daniel died there in 1854. Anna and their children stayed there until 1865 when she went to Henry Co., Iowa where she died in 1887.
We go to the FHL in Salt Lake City to do research. We have found no legal documents (land, probate, court) that indicate who Anna's parents are. The man who our research indicates is most likely to be her dad is Peter Biddinger/Bedinger who md Nancy Ledman in Berkeley Co., W VA. Peter and Nancy then went to Fayette Co., Pa, then to Harrison Co., Ohio then on to Richland/Ashalnd where Peter died in 1847. They are in all the right places at the right times. An executor was appointed for Peter's probate but the FHL has no further probate records for the dates that would conclude his probate. They must not exist. Daniel Campbell bought land from Peter Biddinger in 1837 in Richland Co., Ohio. In 1851 there was a court case between Christian Biddinger and Daniel Campbell concerning this land but it gives us no clues as to what relationships these Biddinger's are to Anna.
Daniel and Anna also named two of their children Peter and Nancy.
Does anyone know anything about Anna Biddinger Campbell or even Peter and Nancy Ledman Biddinger's children.
