Further research and study, leads me to believe that William Henry Bledsoe, Sr.'s son, William Henry Bledsoe, Jr., born in 1727, was the father of Thomas Bedsole, Sr. 1750-1825. William Jr. married Rhoda West in NC. She was a daughter of James West. Thomas Sr. named his first son William Henry Bedsole and his first daughter Rhoda Bedsole, following the custom back then, to name your first-born after the Paternal grandparents. Also, in a book on NC tax lists, Thomas Sr. is listed at age 17, as living in the household of James West, in NC. The naming of his first two children and the fact that he was living with James West (his Maternal grandfather), lends great weight to the idea that William Henry Bledsoe, b. 1727 and Rhoda West, were actually the parents of Thomas Bedsole, Sr., in my opinion.
That would also mean that William Henry Bledsoe, b. 1690 or so, was the Paternal Grandfather of Thomas Bedsole, Sr. I cannot find a wife for that Grandfather....JD Bedsole
