Thomas, thanks for the reply. I have no additional information about the Thomas mentioned. He was listed in the 1850 Hampden, Penobscot, ME,census as living with my GG-Grandparents in Maine. I don't know if he was simply boarding with them or if he was a relative. I was trying to find my GGGrandfather's {Hiram} family. I have since learned that his father was listed as Elisha Grant, his mother-Caroline Cobb. If any of your Beethe families came from the Hampden, ME area or had relatives named Grant from ME., I'd be very interested in hearing from them. If not, continued good luck with your own search.
