Hello Wayne,
Just came across your message here and would like to point out that these are in fact 2 different William Beggs. My William is the same as Geoff's, but different to the William you mention.Yes, there are in fact many errors in this book, but family research is always a work in progress. Much has been done since then. It isn't known when my William was born, but it was c 1800.He married Jane (Jenny) Graham (also unknown date/place of birth as yet) but her death certificate 3rd Jan 1872 states her age as 69.Their children were Charles 1823 Ballycreek, Ann Jane 1825 Broughshane?,James 1827 Ballygalley, John 1835 Ballygalley, Thomas 1836 Ballygalley, William 1841 Ballygalley, Elizabeth 1844 Ballygalley and Nathaniel 1846 Ballygalley all in County Antrim. Of these, Charles, Ann Jane, James, John, Thomas and Elizabeth all came to Australia.William moved to Belfast, but some later generations also came here, and Nathaniel married and lived in Scotland. Charles died at Woodville, NSW in 1923.Ann Jane(m Mills)died 1913 Morpeth, NSW. James (my g-g-grandfather) died at Boree Creek, NSW 1914. John died Geelong, VIC 1902.Thomas died Robinvale, NSW date?. William died Northern Ireland, date?. Elizabeth's I'm stil working on, and Nathaniel was still living in Scotland when his father William wrote in 1874 to his daughter Ann Jane of her mother's passing, and I am still researching Nathaniel's movements. While these Williams could be connected, they are in fact different people.
Hope this helps...
Jennie (Beggs)
