Thank you for your reply.

I was in Quebec City with my wife last week on vacation. In the crypt under the Cathedral my wife pointed out that there was a Cardinal-Bishop of Quebec named Begin. The tour guide was interested that my mother's maiden name was Begin.

Another guide, in the old seminary which is now a school of architecture, told me a story of how his own father was studying at the seminary but ran away and brought disgrace on the family, he never spoke with his family again right up until his death.

My mother has told me that her father, Honore Begin, was born in Canada and was studying to be a priest when he met my grandmother who became Zella Begin (don't know her maiden name) she was from Paris and was studying to be a nun. So it sounds like they might both have cut or had cut all ties to their families becaus my mother told me about an hour ago on the phone that she didn't know any of her mother or father's family when she was growing up.

The family was for a time in Brunswick Maine where my mother Muriel Begin was born. They had also lived in Lewiston Maine.

My grandfather was: Honore Begin
Grandmother:Zella Begin

Their children: Leonard, Mary, Theresa, Muriel(my mother)Raymond, Victor, Blandine, Geneviève and Barbra.

They lived in both Brunswick and Lewiston Maine.

Any help you might be able to give me would be appreciated.
