Wallace George "Wally" Behm, 80, of Morris, MN, died Monday, September 25th at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris. Services were held at the Morris Area Elementary School Concert Hall in Morris. Military honors were provided by the Morris American Legion, VFW and AmVets. Wallace was born July 30, 1926, in Hudson, Wisconsin, to George and Irene (Kahmeyer) Behm. He graduated from Hudson Public Schools in 1944. He attended one quarter at the University of Wisconsin in River Falls and then was drafted into the Army. He served until 1946. He married Kay Finnegan on September 2, 1949. He received a bachelor's degree in biology and German. He taught in Fulda for two years and then became the principal of the high school. He received his master's degree from the University of Minnesota in 1956. The family moved to Morris in 1963, when he accepted the post of high school principal. He volunteered with the American Red Cross, Minnesota State High School League, Area Agency on Aging, and the Morris Police Commission. He is survived by his wife; children: Jo Behm (and Darrell) Blomquist of Falcon Heights, Mike (and Connie) Behm of Loveland, Colorado; four grandchildren; and two siblings: Gerhard Behm of White Bear Lake, and Gertrude Quarberg of St. Paul.
