My ggrandparents came from Strassburg, district Prenslau in 1882 (the one to the NE of Berlin that is now in Brandenburg). The 1881 emigration papers show he was a pottery tradesman. August Friedrich and Ernestine Fredrika Charlotte Witte. 5 children came with them (charles, August, Bertha, Minna and William).
They settled in Detroit, Mi. where my grandfather was born and where they all remained.
Any info is greatly appreciated.
