My Thornton and allied families have a long association with the Bell family. SC, VA and TN. 1700's.
The earliest reference we have to Bell is one Daniel Bell mariner wife Anna mentioned on a deed with George and Martha Ducat in Charleston, SC in 1723. Apparently from my cousin's research the wife of Daniel Bell, Anna is the daughter of George Ducat and Martha.
At this time we have no other info.
Does any of this information tie up with anything you Bell researchers have?
