Thank you Lois! Of course as you have no doubt discovered, finding my George's dad is the old needle in a haystack proposition. And him not having a will and dying prior to the 1850 census certainly makes finding the identities of his children a challenge. :)
I do have another given name that I suspect may be a brother to my George, but am uncertain. It is Burwell or Burrell depending on the census taker. Also, and I certainly haven't proven anything, but it has been suggested my George's dad may have been Matthew R. Bell.
