Hello Corella. In the 1860 U.S. Census, there is a one-year old child named Francis W. BELLES.He is living with ancestors of ours, Phillip and Catherine REICHERT.His name does not appear again in any of our family history, so I presume he may have been a foster child, or possibly an orphan, and his deceased parents may have been friends of the Reicherts.
The family is living, in 1860, in the town of Lexington, Lafayette County, Missouri.
By 1863, our Reichert ancestors had moved to Elgin, Illinois.Since this was in the middle of the Civil War, and Missouri was a pretty stressful state, no telling where young Francis wound up.
Good luck in your search!Nan Reichert
