Yes, these are in my family research. William had his appendix rupture and know not if an accidental overdose of morphine or deliberate. Elisiph Staggers had a brother, Dr. John William Staggers that also married into Belser family. John had married before and only know his beautiful wife had a horrible death per old letters. Floride Belser who was a friend of first wife married him and had 3 children. She actually named her daughter after his first wife. Floride had a very, very unhappy marriage and was so bad that when she left the bad doctor she changed her and children's names to Stannard. A letter from her daughter told of this and said her mother never mentioned the marriage to them after she left. The Dr. did marry again and moved to TX and had many more children. His son by first wife, William inherited all of his wealthy grandfather's estate and is said he blew it all rapidly. Also, the Dr. left his family in TX and returned to SC and after family attempts to contact their father in SC, they finally had one letter returned to them, unopened with this written across envelope “Your father is dead. He died 14 Aug 1898". (what a family!!)John and Elisiph had another sister, Anastasia married Floride and William's brother, Lawrence Belser, so you see there is many connections to the Staggers family.
