Hello, not sure if you'll see this considering the time difference, but I'm Alice's great-great-granddaughter.
Alice married Charlie Phipps, who died at 26. His grave in Pocahonatas, VA reads:
Charlie (Tote?) Phipps
Feb 10 1892
July 12 1918
Gone But Not Forgotten
Alice was born 15 March 1902 in Bramwell, WV and died Oct 1972 in Ohio. Their son was James Robert Phipps, born 4 Nov 1917 in Pocahontas VA (where he spent plenty of time in the jail as an adult). Died 14 Oct 1993 in Newport News VA, wife was Lina Mae Thompson, born Nov 1916 in Boissevain, VA
•Death: 20 May 1993 Newport News
They had 4 daughters, 3 of whom are still living (Rita Elizabeth, deceased).
Alice remarried George Jeffrey and had 3 children w/ him, Doris, Herbert, and Albert.
J.G. stands for John, apparently called Jack. We have a family bible where her parents are listed as J.G. and S.E.
Apparently, S.E. went by Emmitt, and her maiden name was Noells.
Name: Jack John BENINGHOVE
Birth: 31 Jan 1871
Death: 12 Aug 1941 in Bluefield Virginia
I have a feeling you're probably related fairly closely lol. Let me know, and I'll be happy to give you any info you'd like, including family stories, copies of info from family bibles, etc. I have a few childhood pics of at least one of alice's children.
