Hello Roger

My family emmigrated from Co Galway, Ireland in 1850 to Canada. In my research I've concluded that the only way to find my specific family line in Ireland is in fact to follow every Irish Benn line. There aren't acually that many of them so it's not as crazy as it sounds. I've concluded that my family couldn't have been in Galway for very long as there are virtually no records of the name Benn there. Counties Clare, Tipperary and Limerick have far more, and then there is a second group of which Cork is one. My working assumption is that there was probably one or perhaps two families back in the early 1700's, probably in Limerick or Co Clare and we are all decendants of them. I'm always happy to share what I have, tell me want you've got and I'll see if it fits in.
