I think you are descended from George Benn, a native of Germany who was pressed into the service of "Gentleman Johny" Burgoyne. George deserted the British army at the Battle of Saratoga, settled in Albany County, and raised a family. I have more information as does Frank Carlson who is probably a distant cousin of yours.
