I've finished a bit of reading from my acquired documents and find no other data on the "Benn" connection other than the following:
Robert Standish(b. 1700) lived in Tipperary Cty Ireland.
Robert(no record of wife's name) had son John(b.1740)who
married Susan England(no record of their residence). John
and Susan had a son Robert(b. 1777) who married Jane Benn and their residence was Queens County Ireland in 1818 just before coming to Rougemont, Quebec, Canada. Perhaps Canadian census records will show all Benn residents between 1818 and when your ancestors arrived. That may bear some siblings, uncles, cousins etc who may have ventured here before your 1850 date, at which time your connected family also made the move. When my Robert came to Canada with his two brothers Matthew and Joseph, he also came with a nephew James...so parts of family arrived earlier and other parts arrived later. I will certainly pass any other info I come across on Benn, because I will continue that line backward along with the Payne and Chamberlain name. This certainly gets contagious. Good luck in your search.
