Benn in Maine/NB -- Significant railway history published

Not a direct family reference, but probably a significant peripheral one: the late Omer Lavallee's "Canadian Pacific to the East: The International of Maine Division" has finally been published (ISBN-13 978-0-921871-10-1):

www.bytownrailwaysociety.ca/

It's a big coffee-table book ($60) with exhaustive documentation and hundreds of rare 19th and 20th century railway photos, various kinds of maps, and lots of local detail.

No direct Benn references, but much important place-setting. For example, the 1830-surveyed but eventually abandoned N.B. & Maine Railway (northbound at McAdam Jct., initially proposed to run from St. Andrews, NB to Montreal, PQ and superceded by the International of Maine and the Western Extension about 1867) --

connects Debec Jct., NB, and Houlton, ME. (!!)

No commercial interest here, but this is a significant history.
