Hello Peter,

I am Barbara M. Benn - great granddaughter of Walter Franklin Woodward Benn, who was brother to "your" Robert Mason Benn. (Barbara B. Spada-Shaker of New Britain, CT)

I wish to extend my sincerest condolences to your father, your brother Andrew and family at the passing of your mother Nancy. I sent a card recently to your father. He has kept me posted and educated on our Benn line over the years.

We are of coarse, descendents of William Benn of Coolbanagher, Mt. Mellick, Queen's Cty, Ireland, and of his son, Robert Benn who married Jane Crawford - their son was Joseph W. Benn married to Mary E. Tapley.

Mary Spacher of New York, a descendent of William Benn's son Edward Benn, contacted me this past week, so we're all back in high gear with the family research!

Your father did send me a copy of the note Andrew sent many years ago when he went to the burial sites in Coolbanaegher - did anyone ever go back to take photos?

He spoke highly of Uncle Eric Benn, who was so good to him when he graduated college. It was so startling when a few weeks later after receiving a copy of Eric Benn's letter to your grandfather, to receive a copy of a similar letter, also from Eric Benn on the same letterhead with similar information written to my great aunt, Verda Benn Tonsing, sent to me by my cousin Carol Tonsing!
It truly is a small world!
Good to find you online!
Barbara Benn Spada-Shaker

I am also the granddaughter of Mozart Benn and daughter of Bradford Mozart Peter Benn, who was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1953. I am also a twin - my sister is Jean Bradford Benn, now of Phoenix, Arizona.
