I am a descendant of Henry Benn and his wife Mary. Their son was Reverend Jonathan Benn and he married Elizabeth WILKINS of Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. Jonathan, Elizabeth and children moved to Crawford Co., PA. Their daughter, Mary married Robert ALCORN and they and their children lived in Cherrytree, Venango Co., Pennsylvania.

Caroline MONKS and I corresponded many years about the Benn family tree. I never met her but I have Christmas cards and information that she gave me about the family.

I know that a lady proved Henry Benn's help in the Revolutionary War and the record is available in the DAR headquarters in Washington.

I note that you are descended from a lady named Lily Benn MALES of Clarion Co., PA. I am descended from HENRY MAHLE and ELIZABETH STRICKENBERGER who settled in Clarion Co, PA about 1824 having first lived in York Co., PA from their arrival from Germany in 1819.
Do you think your Males could have been Mahle?

Was your Henry Benn of Clarion Co. the brother of my Jonathan Benn?

Let me hear from you, please.

Helene Rogers
