There are absolutly no Anadian Benoits in my line. In quebec were have excellent records and I have photocopies of all marriage contracts, marriage acts, birth, deaths etc and notary contracts of the transactions made by my 9 ancestors.
Just ot make certain, in this forum someone claims that Martin Benoit is the son of Paul Benoit. The facts have not been studied - Martin Benoit is about 3 years younger than Paul and was living in present Nova Scotia. Paul is in Ville Marie or Montreal. The engagement record for Paul Benoit to come to new France was made at Nevers, Nievre while Martin Benoit did Labriere I believe is still of unknown origins.
To my knowledge no DNA was made
