Thank you again Marcel.With the parent's names which you provided, and Tanguay Corrections & Additions CD,I was able to connect to Jean-Baptiste Benoit-dit-Livernois and then to François & Marie-Angélique Chagnon, and upward to Paul.
As for the Phaneuf line, I have quite an extensive file on them, I am descended from Mathias III Farnsworth, the 14 yr old who was captured by Indians at Groton, Mass. in 1704, not Deerfield as many believe, and taken to Montreal, where he was "purchased" by the Sulpicians, to obtain his freedom, and then baptised into the Catholic Faith, with the then Governor of Montreal, Claude de Ramezay as his Godfather, and Claude-Élisabeth Souart d'Adoucourt for Godmother, at which time the baptismal name "Claude" was given and added to Mathias' name, which at that time was spelled, from Mathias' prononciation, as Farnoth, eventually to Fanef, Faneuf and then Phaneuf.A very interesting family indeed.
