I am looking to identify Frances 'Franky' Bentson (Benson) who married William D. Duncan. Frances' birthdate and birth location are not known, but she passed away in 1853. William was born about 1768-1775 and passed away about 1848-1852. In all probability, the general geographic location of their lives was the Carolinas, perhaps Greenville, Randolph or Spartanburg counties.
A census report from researched information indicates that Frances' surname was 'Bentson', however, subsequent information indicates her surname was 'Benson'. It is not logical to me that a transcription error t-o 'Bentson' would have been made; it is more logical that any transcription error would have been f-r-o-m 'Bentson' t-o 'Benson'.
Your guidance and responses will be greatly appreciated.
