Jill,
My Pierre Berard and Marie (?) had several children born in the 1830's. Their one son, was Eli/Elie BERARD who married Marie (?). They died in the Coventry, RI area about 1895-1900.
I have alot of information from some the extractons that the French/Canadian Club in Pawtucket, RI has published. These extractions are for Eli and his brother, Jean Baptiste BERARD and some of their decsendants.
While in W. Warwick. RI, I checked the local paper for obits on some of these people. I only found them in the 1920 and 30's papers. Anyone before that date was not listed nor mentioned.
Some of the places that the family has hailed from was ST. Aime- Quebec, Canada; Vermont, NY, Mass and even NH.
We were also told while we were growing up that the name was Berard-Delapine. (Bear of the Woods)
Do you recoginze any of this?
Casey
