Carol: I've been away from the message boards for years. I just checked and saw your query. I am related to Berdahl's from South Dakota: Anfind was my great grandfather (lake preston area) He came from Norway in about 1865???I have it all written down somewhere I don't want to waste time looking this second.!!! He ended up in SD, stopping in wisconsin. His daughter, Ida, was my grandmother.Anyway I have rather a lot of data, some which may apply. I have my family line back to 1540, thanks to help from a cousin 200 times removed in Canada. Please contact me!!. Berdahl is the name of the farm in Sogn og Fiordane from which my great grandfather (and many others) emmigrated. You may know this already, so excuse the repitition if that is the case.... Many took the farm name when they made a home here. Norwegian naming practices did not translate well into the American way. Look forward to hearing from you. Merry
