Olga Agnes Hess, 94, of Englewood, Fla., formerly of Ellsworth, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at the Hospice House in Port Charlotte, Fla. Born July 9, 1910, in Town Hill, Luzerne County, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Baluh) Beresky. She was the widow of Ernest R. Hess, who died in 1982.

Mrs. Hess was a member of the First Baptist Church of Englewood, Fla. She was a graduate of Huntington Mills High School. Olga enjoyed being with her friends. She also enjoyed cooking for her friends and helping others.

She is survived by a sister, Joan Hoch and her husband, Ed, of State College, Pa. She is also survived by three grandsons, Carl Hess of Massachusetts, Melvin Hess of Ohio and Gregory Hess of Virginia. Five great-grandchildren also survive her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Robert Hess, brother Peter Beresky and sisters Irene Mansfield and Gertrude Hauser.

A funeral service was held Feb. 28, 2005, at the Kelchner-McMichael Funeral Home Inc., 119-121 E. Third St., Berwick, Pa. Burial was in the Dodson Cemetery, Huntington Twp., Luzerne County. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Hospice of South West Florida, 1158 Veronica St., Port Charlotte, FL 33952
