Ms. Bergerson:

My ancestry is Jewish. My great-grandfather was Samuel (Schalim), and his wife was Clara (Chaya) Garfunkel. They were either from Narol (near Lemberg) in the province of Galicia, Austria-Hungary, or from Tomaszow-Lubelski, Russia-Poland. (Both towns show up in records.) He came to the US (New York) in 1902, she in 1909.

His brother was Isidore (Isaac), whose wife was Yetta. He came to the US in 1913, she in 1920.

Samuel and Clara's children were Philip (Pincus) who was my grandfather; Isidore, Annie (Chane), Elsie (Etke), Samuel (Schmul), and Benjamin (Berisch). All were born in Poland.

Isidore and Yetta's children were David, Lillian, Mollie, and Ruth. The first 3 were born in Poland, and Ruth was born in the U.S.

The parents of Schalim (my great-grandfather) and Isaac were David and Goldie.

Related? Maybe Froime was a sibling of Schalim and Isaac?

Dan
