Philadelphia/Ocean City Bergins 1900s +
Seeking contact with descendants of Joe "The Governor of Ainsley (sp?) Street" Bergin. He was my grandfather and the patriarch of a Irish brood in the East Falls neighborhood of Philadelphia around the turn of the century (19th to 20th, that is). I have an aunt, Peg (Bergin) Flanagan, who, if she is still alive, probably still lives in East Falls. My uncles - Tom, Joe, Bill Bergin - are deceased. Tom lived in Hicksville, NY, at the time of his death, the others in Philly. It is my understanding that the family torch is now carried by Aunt Peg's daughters, and that the family seat has moved from Philadelphia to Ocean City, NJ. I am seeking a copy of the family geneology, which I saw in the 1970s, but which could not be located after my father's death. I believe it was prepared, at least in part, by my cousin Robert "Bobby" Bergin, formerly - maybe still - of Hicksville, NY. Any clues appreciated.
