Dear John,
I found out a little bit more info.If any of this sounds familiar, let me know.....
The Bergin's my greatgrandfather was Joseph Bergin. His son's name, my grandfather was John Gregory Bergin came to Philadelphia in 1910, his other siblings went to the US, UK and Austrailia. As I understand it, those were the popular places to immigrate in those days after the potato famine in 1840's/1860's Ireland.
My grandfather, John Bergin hismother's name was Katherine MacEnvoy and she married Joseph Bergin. She had seven children...Daniel, Joseph, Michael, William, John, Sallyand James. My grandfathers brother's son was Edward, whom went to school in Washington to become a doctor. They had visited my aunt on occasion when heading back from school. Sally, my grandfather's sister was a school teacher.
My grandparents, both resided in Kensington, Philadelphia on Magee street. My father, John Edward Bergin lived in Levittown Pennsylvania, I am trying to research more of my heritage so, if this sounds familiar to you please contact me via e-mail.
