My Bergstrom ancestors are from the Far Southside of Chicago. My 4 Swedish grandparents, Charles Bergstrom, his wife in a few years, Louise Carlson, Oscar Anderson and his wife in a few years Josephine Hjersted, all migrated to Chicago from Sweden in the 1880s.Charles Bergstrom and Louis Carlson had 3 children, Arvid, Edith and Carl William Bergstrom (my grandfather).Charles Bergstrom worked for the Pullman Co. and built a house on Indiana Ave opposite Palmer Park.My Grandfather lived in this house also and my father was born there. It is still lived in.
My Grandfather, Carl William Bergstrom married Ellen Amanda Victoria Anderson, the daughter of the forementioned Oscar and Josephine Anderson. My grandparents (Carl and Ellen Bergstrom died in the late 50s. They had 3 sons, Robert, Richard (my father) and Carl. All three are now in their 80s but still going. The three sons moved out to the suburbs in the 50s, thus this branch of the Bergstrom's left Chicago proper then.
